Enable Rich Pins in Squarespace
Pinterest is a great way to drive traffic to your website, gaining you new visitors and potential new clients along the way. While traditional pins on Pinterest are still helpful to your site traffic, rich pins are the way to go with gaining the most views and click throughs (clicks to your website). They allow Pinterest to import the extra information from your website into their platform. It makes your content more likely to show up when someone searches for it.
In this post I will be walking you through the process for getting your Pinterest account ready for those rich pins.
First make sure your Pinterest account is set up as a Business Profile. Although there is no difference in the way business and personal accounts looks, having a business account gives you access to more options. By setting up a business account you will be able to use your company name as opposed to your name. You will also get access to the free analytics tool and be able to use rich pins.
If you already have a personal account it is easy to convert it to a business account. Simply log in to your account then go to https://business.pinterest.com/ and follow the directions. If you are just setting up an account for the first time you can go to https://www.pinterest.com/business/getstarted/ Setting up a business account is easy, just fill everything out and you will be ready to start pinning.
This business account will also give you more access to analytics for website traffic to your site so you can review the data and see what type of content from your website gains the most clicks, visitors, followers, etc.
Validate Your Domain
After you have created your business account you will need to validate your website domain. You can confirm your site is validated by logging into your account and clicking on your main profile.
If you hover over the globe icon next to your website/domain name and see the message “This website has been claimed,” you are good to go. If you do not see that message, visit this website for more steps.
From here you should be properly set up every time you pull content for Pinterest from your website! Rich Pins help with your organic searches and reach on Pinterest, therefore helping you with more traffic to your site. Like I mentioned before, the more traffic, the more new clients, the more money your business could earn.
