Being a creative entrepreneur can be isolating, especially if you work from home. I find that listening to podcasts is a great way to curtail the isolation for an hour or two. While there are some great podcasts that I listen to for pleasure on long drives or while cleaning the house, there are also a few that I listen to that get me motivated and teach me a thing or two while working at the same time, below are my 4 favorite podcasts.
Being Boss is a podcast for creative entrepreneurs by Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon. They talk about the trials and tribulations of owning a creative business as well as interview some pretty amazing guests (Dr. Brene Brown & Melissa Hartwig to name a few). What I love about this podcast is it's no-holds-barred, they get super vulnerable about their struggles as creatives, being boss and mom life, it makes them so much more relatable. Check it out here>
Invisible Office Hours
Invisible Office hours is a podcast for entrepreneurs by Jason Zook and Paul Jarvis. They cover topics like the importance of a strong brand message, staying true to yourself and how to deal with all the BS that comes along with running a business. What I love about Invisible Office hours is they talk candidly about their failures and preach the importance of "finding your rat people". It has really helped me narrow in on my dream clients. Get Paid Podcast
The Get Paid Podcast is hosted by Claire Pelletreau and while it is not geared specifically for creatives, I think most creatives could benefit from hearing the Podcast. Claire interviews other online business owners and talks REAL NUMBERS regarding revenue. It is refreshing to hear others talk about how much they actually make off of their products or services. The Unstarving Artist
The Unstarving Artist podcast is hosted by Molly Hahn. I have always really admired Molly’s business journey, it’s great to hear her talk to other artists about their journey to becoming “unstarving”. The podcast is light and fun but also goes into detail about how her guests make a living doing what they love. There are only two episodes so far, I am so excited to hear more! Check it out here>
